Here are some common ones Ilish Preparations:
Bhapa: This is a popular Bengali dish where Hilsa fish fillets are marinated in mustard and green chili paste, wrapped in banana leaves, and steamed.
Bhaja: Hilsa fish is marinated with turmeric and salt, coated with rice flour, and then fried until crispy.
Paturi: Hilsa fillets are marinated in a mixture of mustard paste, coconut, and green chilies, then wrapped in banana leaves and steamed or grilled.
Machher Jhol: A traditional Bengali fish curry made with Hilsa, cooked in a spicy gravy with potatoes and other vegetables.
Pulao: A fragrant rice dish cooked with Hilsa fish, spices, and sometimes vegetables.
